Influencer/streamer Cherry, a former member of the boy group JWiiver (as Ryujin*), came out a few days ago on livestream as trans.
*I don’t think there’s an issue with putting this part in as she doesn’t avoid it either and it’s an alias itself anyway, but let me know.
๐ This isnโt a hobby this is just my lifeโฆ

Fielding questions during the stream, she says she’s always felt confusion, only recently accepted being trans, and that it took a while to come out publicly.

๐ There was always confusion
๐ But it hasnโt been that long since I accepted itโฆ has it been 6 months?
๐ No it hasnโt been 6 monthsโฆ 1 year- no 3 years?
๐ Because I slowly transitioned
๐ Itโs been 3 years and it took a long time pic.twitter.com/zHfX36T3X0

๐ For me, I knew my identity, but I worried about how I would be seen in the world, and I needed a lot of time
๐ Well it took me a lot of time pic.twitter.com/9hxGlSFwkG
Compared to her idol life, she mentions feeling a lot happier and more loved these days.
๐ค Are you happy?
— ryujin folder ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ (@ryujin_folder) July 19, 2025
๐ Yes, I am now
๐ Probably more than when I was an idol
๐ Really I always say it, Iโm 30,000 times happier than when I was an idol
๐ I feel free, and I feel like Iโm living
๐ I feel grateful and I feel more loved and much much much happier pic.twitter.com/wb6lK8hL4O
That’s not necessarily a surprise given how harsh idol life already is, but the gender aspect likely only added on to those worries, and so it’s great to hear that she’s happy now. At the end of the day, that’s the main thing.
Also important, I think she’s an influencer/streamer now, so you can go support her (YouTube has all the links) in that way.
