Hopefully one or two of my writers will give Akdong Musician‘s comeback tracks proper reviews, but these abridged thoughts will have to do for now.
“RE-BYE” was like Lee Hi‘s recent successful throwback sound, except stripped of everything that made Lee Hi’s effort interesting or exciting, which is perfect cause that’s generally how I feel about most of AKMU’s efforts.
“How People Move” was fun, funky, and surprisingly pop. As their fans pointed out, it was very unlike AKMU in sound, and that probably explains why I thought it was the best single I’ve heard from them. I’ve always respected AKMU’s musicianship and artistry and all that, but until this song nothing they released ever wanted to make me listen again.
