After the Japanese-language cover of “Say So” popped off, I figured it was only a matter of time before somebody notable did a Korean-language cover of the Doja Cat hit. Well, it took a few months but f(x)’s Luna has delivered, and she’s as good of a candidate for covers as anybody.
Not gonna pretend I didn’t notice the showy outfits or how amazing Luna looked in them, which is in line with the original, I suppose. (I wonder if it’s the direction her post-SME solo work will aim at?) Aside from that, another pleasant surprise was getting to hear Luna rap, which she manages surprisingly well.
It’s such an easy-going and catchy tune that it goes well in any language, though I can’t tell if it’s biased or not, but it certainly does seem to fit Japanese and Korean especially well.
