Seungri & Yoo In Suk face new charges linked to gang-related violence in 2015 incident

While it seems like an eternity ago, Seungri and Yoo In Suk are still facing charges. While Yoo In Suk has already copped to some of them, Seungri has essentially argued that he is the most oblivious person in the world even as all of his closest friends were deeply involved with crime done at places he owns or is linked to.

Well now we can add another one to that list, as prosecutors have added a gang-related violence charge in a 2015 incident.

Yongin Ground Operations Military Court revealed on this day that Seungri and his former business partner Yoo In Suk are now facing newly added charges in the form of eliciting miscellaneous violence. According to the prosecution’s findings, back on December 30, 2015, Seungri picked a fight against another customer at a drinking establishment, after the customer intruded on a private room where Seungri was drinking. During this process, even more customers also became involved, and Seungri notified Yoo In Suk of the escalating events in a Kakao chat room. Afterward, prosecutors detected that Yoo In Suk called up members of a gang and arrived on the scene, ganging up against the customers, threatening them, and attempting to take their mobile phones. The prosecution stated, “The defendant Lee Seung Hyun (Seungri) colluded with Yoo In Suk and threatened the victims, partaking in an overt display of force. As a result, he must be indicted as a culprit in eliciting violence.”

Seungri’s side denies the allegations, of course, because why stop now.

Seungri’s side has decided to deny the accusations and will likely prepare to refute the prosecution’s evidence during the next hearing. With this newly added charge, Seungri now currently faces a total of 8 criminal charges on trial.

Well, this just adds another factor to the case, but I can’t honestly say if they’ll be able to nail him on anything. Regardless, my thoughts on people caping for him remain the same as they did a month ago.

Like I’ve been saying throughout this case, I don’t know if they will be able to nail him to anything legally, especially given how the investigation was botched. And if you want to believe that his partner Yoo In Suk is guilty and all these people did all these shady things completely without his knowledge then that’s your prerogative, but it seems comically unlikely. Also, a reminder that even if he somehow didn’t know about all the other sex crimes and prostitution stuff going on around him, he absolutely knew about the molka scandal and did nothing, so I can’t see the reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.
