Quick Reviews: NCT U are in baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy baggy “Baggy Jeans”

NCT U‘s “Baggy Jeans” seemingly includes attempts at melodic moments only at gunpoint so the vocalists have something to do, otherwise opting for signature K-pop hep-hap™ and repeating “baggy” about a hundred times before “jeans”. A bit over halfway through I thought it would transition into something vocally focused and got my hopes up since those parts are admittedly quite nice, but instead it transitions into an extended dance break and then delivers more “baggy jeans” repetition over all different kinds of beats until the music stops. Alrighty.

As I’ve said seemingly over and over again for many boy group releases in recent years, while this style of song isn’t for me, there’s clearly there’s a market for it in some capacity. Certainly I can see how this likely plays better as a performance piece or something, but it’s also not anything I’ll ever seek out to listen to again. Dunno.
