Actor Jung Woo Sung is in a shocking melodramatic mess at the moment. To start the saga, model Moon Gabi recently posted pictures of her child, which came as a great shock to people in and of itself since she’s been on hiatus since like 2022 or something. Dispatch then reported that the previously anonymous father was none other than Jung Woo Sung, which his agency Artist Company then confirmed.
As you can imagine, that was big enough news as it was, but then it was reported that the two are in conflict over their relationship as a result of the child.
According to an exclusive report from Tenasia, Jung Woo Sung and Moon Gabi recently met up to discuss their future together regarding childcare and the possibility of marriage. While Moon Gabi wanted to get married and start their life as a family together, Jung Woo Sung was strongly against the idea of marriage, instead sharing that he would do his best to help parent while being at a distance. Insiders who reported this to Tenasia believed this conflict was triggered by Moon Gabi revealing her baby to the world through her Instagram post.
Jung Woo Sung and Moon Gabi had met several times in the past, but according to Tenasia, they never officially dated. No one publicly knows how the two met, with a rumor that another actor introduced the two together debunked by Tenasia when they investigated it. It is rumored that the two would communicate often through Instagram DMs.
Shortly after one of their meetings, Moon Gabi informed Jung Woo Sung she was pregnant. Jung Woo Sung took a paternity test, which confirmed it was his child. He accepted the test results but did not want to actively parent. Instead, he paid for child-support and childbirth related expenses.
While not getting married is scandalous in Korea, that in itself is whatever to me. A one-night stand doesn’t mean forcing two people who don’t even know each other should marry for the kid as it might actually be worse for the kid. Still, despite the financial support, it still seemed shitty that he didn’t want anything to do with parenting.
It seemed odd, but … well, later it was reported he has been in a long-term relationship with another woman who didn’t know about his child with Moon Gabi.
According to an exclusive report from Tenasia, Jung Woo Sung is currently in a relationship with a non-celebrity woman. They have been reportedly dating for a long time and are serious about their relationship. Tenasia also reported how Jung Woo Sung and his girlfriend would have double dates with Lee Jung Jae and Im Se Ryung, who are a well known couple within Korea. Jung Woo Sung and Lee Jung Jae are also best friends, often appearing in movies and commercials together.
Tenasia was unable to confirm exactly how long Jung Woo Sung and his current girlfriend have been dating, just that they know it is over one year. This is notable since Moon Gabi learned of her pregnancy in June 2023. However, Tenasia also noted that they believe Jung Woo Sung’s current girlfriend did not know about Jung Woo Sung’s situation with Moon Gabi and as a result, currently in shock.
His agency gave a no comment statement in response to the report. Given the timeline, it doesn’t appear he cheated on this alleged current girlfriend with Moon Gabi, but mentioning that you have a kid on the way seems worth mentioning. Guess he wanted to keep everything secretive and under wraps for the sake of his image, but needless to say, none of that has worked.
In fact, now the dam of criticism has apparently opened up on him, with conservatives jumping all over his support of the refugees for the United Nations to rumors he was also dating other women to further rumors that he had other children running around as well. It’s … a lot.
Admittedly, at the moment nothing further would surprise, though you’d hope it’s all just rumors for the sake of other people if nothing else.
