When Crime Scene returned for a fourth season on TVING as Crime Scene Returns, I had assumed it was like a last hurrah for the series. But apparently others enjoyed it as much as I did (while recapping it), as Netflix has now picked the show up for a fifth season, called Crime Scene Zero.
The title is about the show returning to its roots, whatever that means, but I’m thrilled either way. Also thrilling is the return of most of the cast from the fourth season in Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong Min, Jang Jin, and IVE‘s Yujin, with actor Kim Ji Hoon returning from the third season. Perhaps most exciting is the return of a special guest for the sixth spot, which opens up a lot of possibilities, hopefully involving former cast members and others.
Director Yoon Hyun Joon, who has led every season of “Crime Scene” to success and now helms this new installment, teased, “Please look forward to the return of this legendary lineup. The production team has poured their heart and soul into each episode to deliver something truly special to audiences worldwide.”
Perhaps just as important as anything, since it’ll be global on Netflix, we won’t have to wait and beg for subtitles. Though the downside is my episode recaps will depend entirely on how lazy I am or not.
Either way, my body is ready.
