Over the last week or so, there’s been a lot of concern among not just tripleS fans but also just anybody who has seen the issue at hand for member Kim ChaeWon, as she was captured in a recent video looking worryingly thin on stage.
Like many others who saw the first video when it went viral and wasn’t familiar with her, my initial reaction went from “yeah she’s thin, but that looks alright” to “oh my god” after the other group member moved out of the way.

The fandom campaign of sorts to bring this to the attention of the company and others has reached the idol herself, and she responded on a fan messaging platform that she’s not only healthy but the healthiest she’s ever been.
“I’m healthy, so don’t worry. It makes me uncomfortable that you guys are treating me like a sick person. I went for a health checkup and even measured my InBody. The results are that I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been.”
“And the company is taking good care of me, so don’t worry. Thanks for your concern. BTW, a new emoji was released.”
Gotta be honest, the first thing that reminded me of is like Donald Trump overcompensation or something.
Look man, I’m definitely not one of those people who hand-wrings every time an idol is thin given the industry they’re in and the realistic rewards for that aesthetic despite what many claim on social media that they want to see. But it’s just hard to believe any world where the individual below isn’t concerning even if he blood work or whatever else at the moment shows a clean bill of health.
Like many in the industry, she was always thin, but compare the current form to her on debut and the difference gets more stark.
Given that the concerns have already reached the idol (and therefore the company), and they at least don’t seem publicly concerned about it, I guess most of us are left to just hope for the best.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
