SNSD’s Sooyoung and actor Jung Hyung Ho breakup after 14 years, which basically feels like a divorce

SNSD member Choi Sooyoung and actor Jung Kyung Ho have been one of the enduring and beloved celebrity couples, but the pair recently were hit with reports of a breakup after 14 years together. Citing somebody close to the couple, My Daily said it came down to schedules, “Jung Kyung Ho, who is constantly busy with his works, and Sooyoung, who is travelling back and forth between Korea and Japan, have been busy, so they haven’t been able to see each other much and in the end, concluded their relationship.“

Fans found that they were no longer following each other on socials, and then Sooyoung company Saram Enterainment confirmed the news with a short statement, “It’s true the couple have broken up. They decided to remain good colleagues.“

The pair have been dating since 2012 and went public in 2014, which to me basically makes it divorce. I dunno if they were living together, but that has to be something close to a common-law marriage of sorts. Can probably tell it’s a bit surprising just by the fact that I’m covering celebrity breakup news.

Then again, in most situations where you end up dating for 14 years because you don’t get married, I suppose they tend to end like this since there’s some kind of hangup there if it’s not staunch opposition to the institution from both parties.
