Following the recent good news of Gaeun getting an injunction against her contract with 143 Entertainment (her sexual harassment case here), it’s now being reported that the court has ruled in favor of Yeseo and Suhye getting an injunction against theirs as well.
While I had not seen news of them filing for said termination, it apparently happened back in December 2024 and then May 2025, the results of which were granted back in April 2026 and then just recently in July 2026. They are continuing with their main lawsuit to invalidate their exclusive contracts with 143, much like Gaeun is.
The interesting part is the court has essentially used Gaeun’s sexual harassment case as the reason, “The court ruled that the agency’s CEO had engaged in ‘extremely inappropriate conduct that a representative should never engage in,’ and determined that the members had legitimate reasons to fear that similar incidents could happen to them.“
The court stated that the CEO (Lee Yong Hak) admitted to the incident, “the CEO himself acknowledged that he had agreed to have a ‘one-day romantic relationship’ with the member, watched a movie and had a meal with her, subsequently gave her 1 million won (approximately US$730) privately, and that inappropriate physical contact had occurred.” The court rebuked this behavior, “This was extremely inappropriate conduct that should never be engaged in by someone who has an obligation to protect and support artists under their management.” Given that, Yeseo and Suhye had legitimate reason to be wary, “They could sufficiently have experienced concerns and anxiety that similar inappropriate conduct could occur to them. This is a natural reaction according to social norms.”
It’s also described that the father of the member confronted Lee Yong Hak after the controversy was revealed, “The court also considered the actions of one member’s father, who confronted the CEO during the controversy and questioned whether he could entrust his daughter to someone who had behaved in such a manner.“
The ruling is being appealed by 143.
Been waiting for a parent to basically go apeshit over something like this. How do you not? Absurd.
This kinda rules out any “wait and see” kind of position from a moral perspective. Like obviously if there was something fabricated or fishy, 143 would’ve done everything to rebut that in court, but instead it was basically admitted that the CEO was propositioning a minor under his watch. Given that he obviously still has close ties with the company, the bare minimum is to not support the company. MADEIN, iKON, whatever, you know it’s going to a predator and maybe worse.
