Once upon a time, I covered seemingly legit I.O.I reunion rumors back in 2019 … and resolved to never do so again until something tangible was confirmed by corporate.
Well, it seems like that day is finally here in 2026, as Swing Entertainment have confirmed the group will be making a comeback for their 10th anniversary.
On February 23, SWING Entertainment stated, “I.O.I has confirmed their comeback this coming May. They are currently preparing a new album.” According to the report, SWING Entertainment will take full charge of I.O.I’s management and oversee their activities throughout this 10th anniversary reunion project.
It also says that they’ll hold a concert in Seoul and then do an Asia tour after.
The wrinkle is that Kang Mina and Kyulkyung (Zhou Jieqiong) won’t be able to attend. When I.O.I had previously done a livestream in 2021 as a quasi-reunion, Mina was absent from that as well, and Kyulkyung only video-called in.
Not sure if I missed something involving her or not, but Mina being the member consistently being too busy for this shit has to be an upset.
