Sunmi reunites with dancer Cha Hyunseung at WATERBOMB 2026 following his successful cancer battle

You don’t often get heartwarming news out of WATERBOMB, but that’s what happened yesterday at the 2026 edition when Cha Hyunseung made an appearance during Sunmi‘s set once again. This represented a reunion of sorts for the pair, as in June of last year it was worryingly revealed that he had been diagnosed with leukemia. Fortunately, in December he announced that it was in remission. He had been rehabilitating since.

The official Waterbomb social media accounts also shared a video from the performance with the caption, “This is it! They’re reunited! Waterbomb Sunmi X Cha Hyun Seung.” Afterward, Sunmi also commented that the reunion made her emotional.

She also posted a challenge they did for her recent comeback “Forever July”.

Just good to see him back and looking like the rehab is going well as his fitness builds back up.

For those unfamiliar, back in 2018, a fancam of Sunmi and Cha Hyunseung performing at WATERBOMB went viral, as everybody either commented on their chemistry or how hot he was or both. That led to him getting modelling gigs, appearing on reality programs like Single’s Inferno, and even acting.
