In what they’re calling perhaps the least surprising news of all time, former BIGBANG member Seungri is in trouble with the law again, this time accused of aggravated assault. According to a report, he assaulted a man at a restaurant
“According to police on the 10th, Seoul Gangnam Police Station received a complaint on August 25 from a man in his 30s requesting punishment for Seungri on charges of aggravated assault.
The police are currently verifying the specific details, including the date and location of the incident, as stated in the complaint.“
As you know by now, he previously served 18 months in prison for nine charges (soliciting and arranging prostitution, gambling, embezzlement) in connection with the Burning Sun case and the molka chat rooms.
For his part, he spoke to Daily Sports about the incident and admits to holding a bottle in the scrum but denies doing it in a threatening way.
“It is true that I held a bottle in the process of expressing my intention not to be present,” regarding the allegation of special assault, but claimed, “I only listened, but I didn’t wield or threaten.”
According to Seungri, the incident took place on the morning of August 8 while eating with two acquaintances at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Seungri explained that there was a quarrel with A, a man in his 30s who was at another table at the time, over the issue of sharing.
Seungri told Daily Sports, “It is true that there was a quarrel while he asked me to listen to his business ideas without leaving even though he refused many times.”
Seungri explained that after the scuffle, he sat down with A to talk and drink and exchanged contact information. He also said that he exchanged text messages with A even after the breakup, and that he was embarrassed to learn about the complaint.
Okay, but forgive me if I don’t just take his word for it given his track record.
We know next to nothing about the case, but I’m already just hoping he somehow gets more jail time out of this, because quite frankly it’s what he deserves.
Asian Junkie Asian pop. Without discretion.
