‘Unpretty Rapstar 2‘ alumni EXY was likely put on the show with Hyorin to setup the debut of Starship Entertainment‘s upcoming girl group, of which EXY is a part.
Recently, she released a dance cover of Nicki Minaj‘s “Boss Ass Bitch” along with group members Seolha and Juyeon.

This helps explain why I thought EXY was terrible in her intro rap on the show but solid other than that. Just like in this clip, when she slows her flow down she really struggles to find a rhythm, but whenever she’s able to unleash in rapid fire, she appears comfortable and excels.
