Park Shi Hoo somehow continues to get significant roles, and at a recent press conference for TV Chosun‘s Wind, Cloud, And Rain, the producers paid the price for that decision as he came under fire for telling viewers to look forward to actress Ko Sung Hee‘s explicit scenes.
On May 14 during the press call for the upcoming drama, the host asked actress Ko Sung Hee to pick her most memorable scene in the show. She slightly hesitated, saying, “I played a secretive character so I’m not sure to what extent I can share at the moment.” Then, Park Si Hoo suddenly took over and said, “There are going to be Ko Sung Hee’s explicit scenes”. He continued, “It’s supposed to be very provocative and sexy so you can have high expectations for explicit scenes.” Netizens are criticizing it was inappropriate and shallow of him to imply the best moment an actress can show through a role is some nudity. Moreover, given his sexual accusations in the past, netizens are pointing out he should have been more mindful and responsible of his words. They also raised voices against the producing director who cast him in the first place.
While this was inappropriate regardless, even as a joke, it would be worthy of more a side-eye than some kind of major blow back under normal circumstances. But the fact that this is Park Shi Hoo makes it exponentially worse, given his history. That includes rape “allegations” where it was caught on video that his accuser was carried into his place and he subsequently admitted to having sex with her that night (How was consent possible in that scenario? Good question!).
He later essentially pulled a Yoochun (though not as bad on the backfire) by claiming to the press that he would prove his innocence and tell his side of the story in the end, but instead quietly settled and made it all go away, only bothering to get mad whenever it continued to dog him.
This just shows that he really has zero shame about the whole case, and that he lacks self-awareness to think that this joke would go over well coming from him. He’s learned nothing … cause why would he?
