As the legal process has been taking place, substantive updates have been predictably slow to come by in the alleged grooming and mistreatment scandal of Kim Sae Ron by Kim Soo Hyun, but recently the late actress’ family announced criminal charges at a dramatic press conference.

At a press conference, her family’s legal team claimed that Kim Sae Ron spoke to a whistleblower before she passed away and recorded a ~90 minute interview with them. They also say the FBI is involved because said whistleblower was stabbed last week in America.
According to the lawyer, this whistleblower was attacked on April 30 (local time) by two people, one Korean and one Chinese, being stabbed in the neck nine times in the United States. “The family earnestly pleaded that we reveal a part of the recording as this incident could get more severe if we wait more,” the lawyer shared, and he added that the case is under investigation with the U.S. FBI.
They also revealed segments of the recording from January 10 where Kim Sae Ron allegedly confesses she dated Kim Soo Hyun since middle school, that they had sex while she was still in middle school, and expresses fear about GOLDMEDALIST.
In the recording, she says, “I dated Soo Hyun oppa. You might say I’m crazy and not believe me, but I dated him since I was in middle school, and we broke up after I went to college,” and adds, “Soo Hyun oppa and those GOLDMEDALIST people are really scary and will do anything.”
“I feel like I was used since middle school. Honestly, I was his girlfriend and he knows how I was to him since middle school, but after the accident, they all made me out to be a weird person. What’s really crazy is that he sent me a photo taken while he was doing ‘it’ with someone else. He said the idol he slept with smells like miyeok (seaweed) so he had her name saved as ‘miyeok’ in his phone and sent me that. If I was in better circumstances, I would’ve revealed everything already,” Kim Sae Ron shares.
Also in the recording, she says, “The first time I did it with him was during winter break in my second year of middle school. Thinking about it now, it was done to me. Not many people know about when I dated him in middle school, but they all reacted the same way. They asked why I just let him be.”
As a result of this, their legal team has announced a criminal complaint against Kim Soo Hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act.
On the day in question, through our law firm, the bereaved family filed a criminal complaint against Kim Soo Hyun for violation of the Child Welfare Act and for false accusation. Article 17, Clause 2 of the Child Welfare Act punishes those who force a child to engage in obscene acts, mediate such acts, or commit sexual harassment or other forms of sexual abuse against a child. The family has confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun forced the late Kim Sae Ron, when she was a minor in her second year of middle school during winter break, to engage in obscene acts and subjected her to sexual harassment and other forms of sexual abuse, and has therefore filed a complaint for violation of the Child Welfare Act.
Additionally, they expanded on the whistleblower investigation and suspicious activity surrounding Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, who helped make this case public.
Along with these complaints, we have requested an investigation from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. As mentioned earlier, the whistleblower was attacked with a weapon and was in a life-threatening situation. The investigation revealed that the assailant was a Joseonjok (ethnic Korean from China) who had only recently entered the United States, and the person who brought the assailant to the scene was also a Korean who had recently entered the United States. We have therefore requested an investigation into the exact identity of the Korean individual and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
In addition to threats to the whistleblower’s safety, there have recently been sightings of suspicious vehicles suspected of stalking near the home of the late Kim Sae Ron’s aunt. We earnestly request police protection for the bereaved family and for CEO Kim Se Eui.
Rather than settling down as the wheels of so-called justice turn slowly, things only seem to be escalating now.

In response to the press conference and these claims, GOLDMEDALIST released a strong rebuttal, essentially saying all of this is made up.
GOLDMEDALIST has determined that the recording was created using AI or similar technology. The individual who provided this audio file to HoverLab (hereinafter “the audio file provider”) is a fraudster who also approached GOLDMEDALIST, claiming to possess a recording in which the late Kim Sae Ron made statements favorable to actor Kim Soo Hyun. The audio file provider demanded money from GOLDMEDALIST and sent a portion of the recording, which was manipulated to imitate the late Kim Sae Ron’s voice. GOLDMEDALIST did not comply with any of the provider’s demands.
The audio file provider is someone who could not possibly have had any contact with the late Kim Sae Ron. When their attempt to defraud GOLDMEDALIST failed, they colluded with HoverLab to release the fabricated audio file.
They also explain that the alleged attack on the whistleblower is fabrication and the picture provided was publicly available on the Internet. The company says they will file further criminal charges against Garo Sero Institute as a result of this press conference.

I really hope this is legit and that Garo Sero aren’t just using this to try and push their political agenda behind the stupid-ass Chinese spy conspiracy thing that they were alluding to earlier. All that would do is help to “vindicate” Kim Soo Hyun in the eyes of the public despite what his side has confirmed with regards to the grooming suspicions around Kim Sae Ron already.
GOLDMEDALIST have already tried to frame it as such.
GOLDMEDALIST is appalled by this press conference, which serves as definitive proof that HoverLab’s numerous previous claims have also been false and fabricated.
And look, there’s no reason to take GOLDMEDALIST’s word for it either, but maybe if this didn’t involve Garo Sero I wouldn’t be so cynical about every claim the originates from them. Their involvement in this has made it difficult to believe everything Kim Sae Ron’s family’s side is claiming because Garo Sero are the exact kind of cyberwreckers (like Lee Jin Ho), who might do something this dumb. So I’ll just wait and see how this shakes out, because when I initially read it, I have to admit it didn’t pass my smell test either.
