THE BOYZ’s New says he was unaware of group’s contract lawsuit, as fans call effort into question

As you all know by now, nine members of THE BOYZ are engaged in a legal battle with their agency ONE HUNDRED and recently won an injunction on their contracts, with member New being the exception. There was a lot of speculation as to why that was, and New recently addressed the lawsuit, saying he was not aware things were going on.

“I was never fully informed of any specific details about the lawsuit. I never made the decision to stay at the company after any kind of deliberation. People are saying I chose to abandon one side in favor of the other, but that is a complete misunderstanding. I was keeping quiet because I felt like spilling about all of this to The Bs might be revealing too much, and so I’m only speaking up now. I’m sorry about that. I just want you to know that I never intended to attack or harm anyone. Please don’t misunderstand.”

“To clarify the misunderstanding, I never received any legal documents describing the details of the lawsuit. And I never decided that I would stay for personal reasons. Those news reports were fabricated. I’m not lying. I’m speaking up after holding back for a long time. Why would I lie?”

That’s … confusing, as he’s claiming he was basically left out of all this. It’s hard to read any implication from this other than him saying the other nine members purposefully excluded him, though the words “fully” and “specific” could perhaps be read as if the issue was generally broached. If so, maybe the other members got the impression he wouldn’t go along with it.

That puts things in an awkward place for everybody, honestly.

It’s even weirder because THE BOYZ recently held their INTER-ZECTION concert with all 10 members over a three-day period, and New in particular stood out because he would sit out intense stages and his effort was questioned by fans.
