In what is sorta tragic for the idol but amusing to me personally due to the ridiculousness of it, Kep1er member Chaehyun recently had to essentially apologize for being too hot while doing ballet.
The “controversy” stems from a video on Kep1er’s YouTube, where Chaehyun, Yujin, and Xiaoting go try out ballet and dress as ballerinas. The problem? Chaehyun’s boob and booty was too hot for fans and netizens.
After criticism against the stylist, company, and everybody else for this clearly evil decision that she was forced into, Chaehyun stepped up and clarified that she choose it cause she wanted to look good and sounded upset she couldn’t share pictures of herself in it with fans now.
She stated, “That outfit was my own choice. The other options they offered me were all too dull,” adding, “When I think of ballet, I think of pink, so I wanted to wear something pretty.”
Chaehyun continued, “I was happy thinking others would like it because of the pretty outfit, so this reaction was completely unexpected. That’s why I can’t even share the photos…”
That moved the critique both in the moment and also in the aftermath of the reveal onto Chaehyun herself, with one fan lecturing her like a grandma.
On the chat platform, a fan wrote to her, “I just find it difficult to accept the fact that the person I care about will be consumed by people with strange preferences…” To this, she responded, “Yes, of course, I understand.”
Ending on a more gentle note, Chaehyun added, “But still… I want to wear something pretty. I’ll coordinate better in the future. Please don’t be too upset.”
Even while concern trolling, the people actually upset (or pretending to be) about the issue are the ones posting gifs of her looking hot in the outfit while pearl clutching, and most non-fans probably wouldn’t have even known about this if they didn’t Streisand Effect attention to it.
Anyway, Chaehyun was right, it is pretty and she does look great in it. At least it’s promo?
