One of the best things about being a veteran idol with autonomy is you have more freedom to do what you like, things like BIGBANG‘s Daesung and KARA‘s Youngji using theirs to address, mock, and profit off their recent dating rumors on ZIP DAESUNG.
Daesung’s channel even posted a dramatic teaser for it.

Basically, a week ago there were reports that the two were dating because they sat next to each other at a MAMAMOO concert and looked close. That was denied almost immediately, though it was a thing long enough for people around them to react to it.
In the video — that appropriately comes after a MAMAMOO episode — Daesung mentions that hardly anybody texted him sadly, but he revealed the text convos with G-Dragon and Taeyang where both of them shipped the pair, and both him and Youngji had staff around them congratulating them.
They also roped Jiyoung into it, as she appeared and got teasing from friends, and also helped filming their dramatic reenactment of what it would be like if they were actually caught dating. Amazing work.
They then did a step-by-step clarification, starting with them being invited and Youngji saying she forgot he was going, then saying the order was because he didn’t want to make one of them sit next to a strange man, and that they are close to each other because of the timing of the picture, and they leaned in because he didn’t know how to work his MAMAMOO lightstick.
The funniest part about all this is still that Hyojung is right there and nobody gave a shit. Even Hyojung asked if she should post the whole picture and why nobody mentioned that.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the chemistry they showed is really gonna help the rumors.
