G-Dragon’s drug tests on hair, fingernails, and toenails also all come back negative

Since the story initially emerged, the G-Dragon drugs scandal has turned into more of a scandal for the media and police than anything else. The latest update further solidifies this, as the National Forensic Service has now confirmed that detailed hair, fingernail, and toenail drug tests have come back negative.

According to Yonhap News on November 20, the National Institute of Forensic Science recently conducted a detailed analysis of G-Dragon’s hair sample, confirming that it tested negative for drugs, and notified the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Narcotics Unit. The results of his fingernail and toenail analyses have not been released yet.

A bit later the police confirmed that the fingernails and toenails also tested negative.

According to the police on November 21st, the National Forensic Service recently notified the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Division that G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong)’s fingernails and toenails also came out with negative results in drug reaction tests.

So that makes it negative on the initial pee and hair test, and now the detailed hair, fingernail, and toenail tests as well. I’m not really sure where the police go from here, as all they have is the word of some manager of a hostess club, who hasn’t even proved that her initial tip-off of Lee Sun Gyun is credible yet.

I don’t think the police were wrong to do due diligence, but it’s clear that somebody in the department jumped the gun on talking to the media about it, and the media certainly jumped the gun in attaching his name to this before police had even decided to summon him in.
