T.M.Revolution dons iconic “HOT LIMIT” look for ‘THE FIRST TAKE’, makes out with the pop filter, comments steal the show

T.M.Revolution, Takanori Nishikawa‘s solo venture, recently appeared on THE FIRST TAKE to perform his 1998 hit “HOT LIMIT“, though that was far from the most notably thing about his showing. Rather it was the fact that he recreated the iconic outfit from the song’s cover and equally iconic music video almost 30 years later — watching said music video is a requirement, if for no other reason than at some point it could help you understand jokes/parodies/cosplays since people still use it. Also catching people’s attention? Him forcefully making out with the pop mic throughout the performance.

The amazing thing is none of that might even be the highlight of this, as in the YouTube comments there was a message from a user dedicated to his sister who was a Nishikawa fan that read, “To my sister who passed away 18 years ago: Your beloved Nishikawa-kun is still wearing this outfit and, for some reason, he’s become really muscular. He’s become better at singing too.” Another user then replied, “Please also tell your sister, that even though it’s already the Reiwa era, we still don’t know why he’s wearing this outfit.” So if you’re a bit confused by all this, don’t worry about it.

On that note, it’s noteworthy that Nishikawa shouted out three Japanese bodybuilders and their poses before singing, naming Shun Kaneko, Junpei Taguchi, and Jo Uezato. Then after singing, he delivered a pose from Farouq Ishimoto. Man loves bodybuilding, believe that.

Anyway, to finish here’s a compilation video of T.M.Revolution performing “HOT LIMIT” live from the 10th to 25th anniversary.
