The East Light’s CEO indicted on charges of child abuse & aiding in abuse

Kim Chang Hwan, CEO of Media Line Entertainment, has repeatedly denied that he had anything to do with the abuse of The East Light brothers Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun, putting the blame at the feet of producer Moon Young Il. However, after a bit of back and forth between the brothers and company in the press, yesterday Kim Chang Hwan was indicted on charges of child abuse and aiding in abuse.

On January 8, Media Line Entertainment’s CEO Kim Chang Hwan was indicted without detention for charges of child abuse and aiding in abuse in accordance to the Child Welfare Act.

While it’s difficult to say that anybody knows for sure what level of involvement that Kim Chang Hwan and others at Media Line Entertainment had in the assaults, since nobody disputes that the boys were abused to some degree, it’s hard to buy that this was just some rogue producer given what we know about how K-pop companies operate.
