A couple of weeks ago it was reported that now-former THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon met up with former JAV actress Asuka Kirara, resulting in him being booted from the group. Then there were reports that he engaged in prostitution with her, which was vehemently denied and led to legal action.
Well, following a complaint, a police investigation into the matter has resulted in the choosing not to pursue the case because there was no evidence other than an Internet article.
According to the Gangnam Police Precinct on Wednesday, Ju’s case was not referred to prosecutors after being investigated on suspicions of violating the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts.
Police said that there were insufficient grounds to continue the investigation, as the individual who had filed the complaint against Ju only submitted evidence based on online news articles.
This actually makes his potential legal action against the company more interesting, because the alleged prostitution would presumably be a part of the contention in the case. As of now, Haknyeon isn’t in legal trouble, so opening himself up to further scrutiny with regards to the prostitution reports would be pretty crazy if he had done it.
Update: He has posted about his legal complain against the reporter of the prostitution allegation.

This is basically what you’d expect from somebody who didn’t do it.
Additionally, Kirara spoke up and seemed to be confused about the actions of the agency, specifically them acting before the Shukan Bunshun article even came out.

And as I’ve said, she has been “caught” hanging out with idols before without any suggestion of prostitution, so this coming up now kinda reeks. I don’t rule out anything, but their narrative makes sense.
We’ll see if any other information comes out that reverses course on this, but for now, this sure seems like two consenting adults hanging out with each other and pearl clutching because she used to do porn. Not surprising, and yet disappointing.
