G-Dragon was set to re-sign with YGE, but YG’s handling of the drug allegations changed his mind

Following G-Dragon being cleared of drug use charges, he officially ended things with YG Entertainment and signed with Galaxy Corporation. Behind the scenes, things were apparently never that simple, as it’s being reported GD was set to return to YGE until they abandoned him during his drug case and Yang Hyun Suk then demanded he re-sign.

G-Dragon was about to sign an exclusive contract with YG to release albums. In the middle of the discussion, suspicions of G-Dragon’s drug use were raised and articles poured out.
At that time, YG did not deny G-Dragon’s drug allegation and stated, “It is difficult for us to respond to the issue because the artist is currently not under our company”.

During that time when G-Dragon couldn’t make any official response regarding the case, Galaxy Corporation stepped forward. Galaxy Corporation’s CEO Choi Yong-gi, who has a close relationship with G-Dragon, actively protected G-Dragon when he was facing drug allegations and provided legal advice to him.

Right, as people speculated at the time, that statement was essentially YGE cutting ties with him because it might be bad PR that Yang Hyun Suk couldn’t deal with, especially since he was also under investigation at the time.

Well, in the meantime, somebody else stepped up.

After that, various media outlets began to spread rumors of G-Dragon signing an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation. Seeing that, CEO Yang Hyun-suk angrily proposed, “Let’s solve your relationship with Galaxy and sign a contract”, but G-Dragon decided to sign with Galaxy.
The media added, “G-Dragon’s great disappointment in YG played a significant role in this decision”.

Well, guess we can add fumbling re-signing G-Dragon to Yang Hyun Suk’s legacy. I’m only surprised he didn’t try to get trendy and claim there was tampering somehow.

Always heartwarming to read about YG eating shit, honestly.
